Nicolaas Riegen (1807-1889) – Maritiem
Lived and worked mainly in Amsterdam and developed on his own strength and with great perseverance his artistic talent for the painters. He specialized in painting seascapes and river views that he exhibited with great success in Amsterdam 1853-1889, Leeuwarden and Groningen. In 1872 he was accepted as a member of Arti et Amicitiae. Works by his hand can be found in, among others, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Rijksmuseum Twente in Enschede. Art collection of the city of Rostock.
