Abraham Hulk (1813-1897) – Maritiem

Born in 1813 in London and also deceased there in 1897. In 1828 he became a pupil of the Rijks Academie in Amsterdam and J.A. Daiwaille. In 1833/34 he visited North America and returned to the Netherlands, where he stayed until 1870, alternating between Amsterdam, Enkhuizen, Haarlem, Amsterdam and Oosterbeek. After this he left for London for good. He built up a great reputation as a sea painter and had successful exhibitions at home and abroad. Work from him in many museums and in private collections.
