Adolph Stademann (1824-1895) – Winter landscape

The German painter Adolph Stademann was born in Munich, Germany in 1824. He was taught by Carl August Lebschée and landscape painter Moritz Lotze, among others. At first, Stademann painted night views and atmospheric evening scenes, later focusing on winter landscapes in which he became a master painter. Adolph Stademann admired the great Dutch painters of the 17th century and this can also be seen in his work. Stademann’s paintings are included in many museum collections in Munich, Frankfurt, Mainz, Baden-Baden, Linz and Lübeck, among others.
