Klaas van Vliet, a well-known painter who was born on August 21, 1841 in Krommenie. During his life he lived and worked mainly in his hometown. He was a student of I. Arentz in Zaandam and, in addition to being a painter, a wine merchant, an alderman and a photographer. He mainly painted horses and became famous for that. Van Vliet received many commissions to paint horses with their riders. Exhibitions in: Amsterdam, Arnhem and The Hague.
