Emile Ancelet (1865-1951) – Summer on the River
Emile Ancelet is a French pointillist painter and also a taxidermist and collector, especially of butterflies. He lived in Santes. Émile Ancelet began exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Français at the end of the 19th century. He often painted in the countryside of Lille, paying particular attention to the play of light on flowering trees and other subjects.
