Cor Schaap (1968) – Seascape

Cor Schaap (born 1968) is a Dutch painter who lives and works in Katwijk aan Zee. Using oil paint as his main medium, he paints in an impressionist and post-impressionist style. His works are strongly inspired by the coast, with beach scenes and seascapes as recurring themes. Schaap works from his small studio by the sea, but can also be found outside where he paints ‘en plein air’. The paintings also regularly have a spiritual inspiration, such as this fine little work on oak panel.

Sea of life (Psalm 65)

You are mighty and strong.
You have firmly founded the mountains.
You make the sea calm again,
and that the high waves lie down.
