Cor Schaap (1968) is een kunstschilder uit Katwijk aan Zee. In zijn olieverfschilderijen, die vaak impressionistische en postimpressionistische invloeden laten zien, staat de sfeer van kust, strand en zee centraal. Zijn verbondenheid met het maritieme landschap heeft wortels in zijn jeugd, waarin hij opgroeide in een vissersfamilie. Na een loopbaan in design en media richt Schaap zich sinds 2019 volledig op de schilderkunst. Hij werkt zowel ‘en plein air’ langs de kust als in zijn atelier. Zijn stijl is los en intuïtief, met aandacht voor licht en het moment. Dit werk is in Catalonië gemaakt.

Cor Schaap (1968) is a painter from Katwijk aan Zee. His oil paintings, which often show impressionist and post-impressionist influences, focus on the atmosphere of the coast, beach and sea. His connection to the maritime landscape has its roots in his childhood, when he grew up in a fishing family. After a career in design and media, Schaap has been focusing entirely on painting since 2019. He works both “en plein air” along the coast and in his studio. His style is loose and intuitive, with attention to light and the moment.
